Brazilian biofuels: Who benefits?

War on Want partner MST (Movimento Sem Terra, or Landless Workers' Movement) has produced a new report criticising the Brazilian government's commitment to ramping up ethanol production at the expense of small farmers. The MST understands the challenge of finding new sources of renewable energy, but is adamant that the rights of small farmers and landless people must be protected in the production of alternative fuels.
