It's time for Sports Direct to stand with migrant workers

7 September 2016 - 2:15pm
Press release

Responding to statements made at the Sports Direct AGM today, War on Want’s senior labour rights campaigner, Owen Espley, said:

"The AGM gave little reassurance to the migrant workers at Sports Direct. Whilst small steps have been promised for retail staff to have guaranteed hours, the majority-migrant warehouse staff have only been offered a ridiculously slow move to permanent contracts. It would take 28 years before they are on permanent contracts.

"It's time for Sports Direct to stand with migrant workers and end precarious contracts."
