Today, our right to protest is under attack. UK civil society groups have seen their voices stifled by new legislation such as the 'gagging law', and crackdowns on the right to take collective action. In this edition of Upfront read about the UK government's assault on our democratic rights and how the crackdown on the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement is intensifying.  Read too about some the successes War on Want has achieved with the use of collective action for a more socially just and equal world.

MPs across parties call for suspension of arms sales to Israel

A cross-party group of MPs have called for a suspension of arms sales to Israel in an Early Day Motion tabled on 23 May 2018.

MPs from across political parties have expressed dismay over the UK Government’s response to Israel’s killing of unarmed protesters in Gaza, with particular questions on the legality of UK arms sales to Israel.
