Proposing resolutions and constitutional amendments

Ordinary Resolutions

Any individual, household or affiliate member of War on Want may propose an ordinary resolution or constitutional amendment to the Articles of Association for consideration by members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Resolutions must be seconded by a fellow member of War on Want, but if you do not know any other War on Want member, we can usually help to facilitate this by providing a seconder. Please contact David Rudkin at for further assistance.

A copy of War on Want’s current Articles of Association can be found here.

The resolution or amendment should be proposed in writing on this form and returned to David Rudkin:

The deadline for receipt of resolutions and amendments is 12 noon on Wednesday 30 March 2022. Any proposed resolutions or amendments received after this deadline will be declared invalid.

All valid resolutions and constitutional amendments will be distributed to members in advance of the AGM so that they have an opportunity to consider them.

Emergency Resolutions

In an emergency, resolutions may be submitted for consideration by the AGM after the deadline for receipt of ordinary resolutions. Emergency resolutions must be submitted by 12 noon on Wednesday 25 May 2022.

For a resolution to be considered on this basis it must:

  • Relate solely to matters that have taken place since 12 noon on Wednesday 30 March 2022
  • Be seconded and submitted in writing on the relevant form to David Rudkin, no less than 48 hours before the AGM is due to take place.
